Family Support Services
One of our core areas of service is supporting and strengthening families in our community. JSSA’s team of educators and support professionals provide compassionate and thoughtful care to families working to build healthier relationships and seeking greater success in work and at school. Our free programs are accessible to qualifying neighbors and support social and educational empowerment.

Learning English Together
Adult literacy and English as a second language (ESL) classes offered both in-person and online to increase the potential for individual and family success at work and school.

Dare to Be You
An early childhood program teaching children and their parents how to communicate in a healthy and open way, creating greater trust in the family relationship and fostering good decision making.

Family Discovery Center
A multigenerational family support program offering adult English literacy classes and child development programming for families with children up to four years of age.

Kids Spot
The Montgomery County Circuit Court supervised play area is free and open to any children ages 2 to 12 of parents/guardians who have business in the court, excluding jurors.

Safe Passage Center
A supervised visitation and monitored exchange program that creates a safe space for children to maintain a healthy relationship with their parents regardless of family dynamics.

Ed Bohrer Parent Resource Center (PRC)
The Parent Resource Center offers a range of support and educational services to individuals and families residing in the City of Gaithersburg.
