Suicide Grief Support
In response to community need, JSSA is proud to offer a comprehensive program for specialized bereavement support for survivors of suicide loss, encompassing expert clinical training, counseling services, a support group, information and referral services, and community educational programs.
Help with Suicide Grief
JSSA’s suicide grief support program includes:
- Counseling
Counseling is provided for individuals, couples and family members.
Twice monthly on Monday evenings for those who have lost a loved one to suicide. The group, facilitated by a JSSA clinician (with expertise and specialized training in bereavement and suicide loss), offers a comfortable, safe and respectful setting to share feelings and gain support. For teens age 14-17 who are grieving the loss of a Support group for those who have lost a family member or friend to suicide. Facilitated by a JSSA clinician with specialized training and experience in grief following suicide, the group offers a respectful and supportive setting for gaining insight and sharing feelings.
- Information and Referral Services
The program links and refers family members and loved ones to community support services.
- Community Educational Programs
Periodically, JSSA trains mental health professionals, clergy and community members about suicide grief.
