Holocaust Survivor Services
For: Individuals who were victims of Nazi persecution.
Service description: JSSA provides survivors and their children with services for information and referral (help with filing various claims for reparations from Germany), counseling, case management, financial and medical assistance, hospice care, bereavement support, support groups, homemaker and bathing services, emergency call system, transportation to medical appointments and Meals on Wheels services. Please note:
New German Compensation for Ghetto Workers. The German government has announced a new, one-time payment of 2,000 Euros for Holocaust Survivors who performed "voluntary" work in a Ghetto. JSSA and the Coordinating Law Firms: DLA Piper, Howrey, Latham & Watkins, Skadden Arps and Steptoe & Johnson are providing free legal assistance to survivors who wish to apply for this payment. Payment:
The Conference on Jewish Materials Claims Against Germany (“Claims Conference”) has provided limited funds to JSSA to assist elderly Jewish victims of Nazi persecution. For more information on eligibility, programs and services, please call the number listed below.
