Purpose: Jewish Chaplaincy Services (JCS) offers spiritual, religious and personal connection to elders and the vulnerable in the Jewish community when they are most in need.
For: Unaffiliated Jewish residents in facilities not under Jewish auspices such as hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and prisons.
Service description: JCS clergy, chaplains, and volunteers can offer compassionate pastoral care, spiritual, religious, and personal connections, Jewish resources and programming. They can lead brief Sabbath and holiday services, facilitate discussion groups, provide one-on-one visitation and other projects.
Service providers: The JCS team is comprised of rabbis, cantors, chaplains, and volunteers.
