Memory and Its Disorders: A Workshop for Geriatric Care Managers

  PRESENTER: Jason Brandt, Ph.D, ABPP (CN) What is the difference between normal memory and pathological memory? Treating Families of Children with Developmental Disabilities

  PRESENTER:  Jeff Jackson, Ph.D Nearly 10 million U.S. children (15% of children ages 3-17) have some type of developmental disability. Bringing a child with developmental disabilities into the world has life-changing implications and lasting effects not only for the child, but also for his or her family. Trauma and Dementia

  PRESENTER: Nicole Absar, MD The presentation will cover a 21st century update on various aspects of the neuro-cognitive disorders including various clinical presentations of dementia, diagnosis and the specific treatment. The presentation also will focus on the link between traumatic experience and neurological, neuro-psychiatric disorders and also preventing aspects including neuro-cognitive health (diet, exercise, yoga, mindfulness and cognitive stimulation tasks).

Is He Gay? Exploring Modern LGBTQ Identities and Sexualities

  PRESENTER: Michael Giordano, LCSW-C Binary. Non-Binary. PreP. TasP. Open. Queer. The LGBTQ community is constantly evolving, including it's expression and sexuality. Therapists can sometimes feel lost, not knowing exactly what is being said, missing important information about clients' identities and relationships. In this workshop, you will explore terminology and concepts regarding sexual orientation and gender identity, while also expanding your understanding of sex positive approaches to working with these populations.
