JSSA Training Institute is pleased to welcome Susan Auerbach, author of I’ll Write Your Name on Every Beach: A Mother’s Quest for Comfort, Courage and Clarity After Suicide Loss, to share reflections of her grief journey after losing both her father and her 21-year-old son to suicide.
This talk is for anyone who has suffered traumatic loss (especially suicide loss survivors) and those who wish to help and understand loss survivors, such as mental health professionals, educators, clergy, and friends. Light refreshments will be served.
Book signing to follow. Books will be available for $17.95 + tax. Cash or credit preferred.
I’ll Write Your Name on Every Beach, memoir about losing a child to suicide and the process of post-traumatic growth, also explores grief generally. The book addresses the stages of the grieving process with therapy exercises at the end of each chapter to help readers come to terms with loss. Anyone who has suffered a traumatic loss or wishes to better understand and help those who are struggling with complicated grief will find comfort in Auerbach’s book.
Auerbach maintains the blog Walking the Mourner’s Path After a Child’s Suicide and serves on the advisory boards of Survivors After Suicide at Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services and The Los Angeles County Suicide Prevention Network.
