Job Opportunity: Manager, Foundation and Grant Support
JSSA’s growing Development team is seeking a seasoned Manager to grow its grants and foundation program. Foundation and grant support are integral to the development effort and vital to JSSA’s ability to deliver on its mission. Essential job responsibilities include writing, researching, managing and coordinating all aspects of the grant program. The position reports to the Chief Development Officer.
The successful candidate will have strong writing and organizational skills with a track record in identifying, soliciting, and stewarding support from corporate, foundation, and government sources. The Manager must be an excellent researcher and astute organizational specialist, capable of matching funding prospects with program needs.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 5 years of successful grant writing experience; master’s degree preferred. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience crafting funding proposals in a clear and compelling manner and success securing awards of $100,000 or more. Experience with some or all of the following: private/family foundation, local/county, state, federal and corporate proposals. Ideal candidates will possess knowledge of social service, mental health and/or healthcare industries and the current trends in the field. Excellent writing, analytical, and research skills are essential. Candidates must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and highly organized. Candidate must possess the capacity to manage a high volume of work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven work environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) required; Salesforce strongly preferred.
