Rebecca's Story

Suspecting Asperger Syndrome, a Fairfax elementary school teacher referred six-year old Rebecca and her parents to JSSA for a comprehensive assessment of needed services.  JSSA diagnosed Rebecca's condition and created a care plan for her and her family.  Expert individual and group therapy helped Rebecca learn and practice critical social skills while her parents benefited from the guidance and support of JSSA's parent training programs.  JSSA, Rebecca's teachers and counselor, and Rebecca's family have become a cohesive team, working together to support her progress and to improve her behavior, social interactions, academic performance, and her chances for the future.
