Making Marriage Work
Couples who are considering marriage or are already engaged have just one wish - that their marriage be successful and last a lifetime. Studies show that couples who participate in a pre-marital program significantly reduce their chance of divorce. This program help couples learn the necessary skills to strengthen relationships and create successful families. The series explores healthy communication, conflict resolution, the influence of personality traits and family origin, the expectation of love and commitment, money management, division of labor and family life.

Parenting During Separation or Divorce
JSSA strives to help couples and their children preserve family bonds as they move forward during this transition. This workshop can make a significant difference in the attitude and actions of those seeking separation or divorce. Workshop topics include:

  • How separation or divorce causes a grief reaction in adults and children.
  • How separation or divorce impacts children differently depending on their stage of development.
  • How parents can ensure they have a positive impact on their children during a separation or divorce.
  • How to talk to children about separation or divorce.
  • How to protect children from their parents’ conflict.
  • How children are positively impacted by a continuing relationship with both parents after separation or divorce.

When: Tuesday, March 13, 2012; 5:30-8:30 p.m.

Deaf Adults Relationship Therapy Group
For adults ages 25 and over. This 8-session group provides an opportunity to share joys and sorrows, hopes and fears, coping mechanisms,and Strategies for improving relationships.
When: Wednesdays, Feb. 8-March 28, 2012; 6:30-8:00 p.m.
