JSSA's focus is to promote independence for seniors and their families and to promote and support seniors aging in place.

JSSA provides comprehensive in-home or in-office assessments to determine the overall functioning capacity of the senior, his/her particular areas of need, and the services and programs needed to implement the most appropriate care plan for maintaining independence. The family, caregivers and physicians are consulted as needed.

Consultations before the assessment usually help to establish an appropriate course of action to address a specific caregiving issue or determine further assessment of needs.  Once a needs assessment has been completed and an individualized care coordination plan implemented, JSSA provides ongoing caregiver and family consultation and support.

JSSA's therapists, geriatric case managers, psychologists and psychiatrists can help seniors who are struggling with a variety of difficult life challenges and situations such as the loss of a loved one, grief, anxiety, family concerns, depression, health problems, dementia, the stresses of caring for an ill loved one, making difficult decisions, retirement or moving issues.

A full range of therapeutic options are offered including cognitive behavioral therapy; psychodynamic psychotherapy; individual, family and group therapy and other evidence-based approaches.  JSSA provides both brief and longer-term intervention to achieve symptom relief and improved functioning at home, at work and in the community.

JSSA professionals also provide referrals to workshops or support groups on a variety of topics and links to helpful community resources.

Information about JSSA's services and charges is available upon request. JSSA accepts full-fee-for-service as well as most major insurance and managed care plans for this service. JSSA also accepts Medicare and Medicaid and can provide financial assistance on a sliding fee scale based on need.
