Service description:  Adoption Options is a licensed child placement agency in Maryland and Virginia providing resources for adopting families, offering information about adoption options, helping them explore the details of domestic agency, private or international adoption; and helping them reach informed decisions in achieving their adoption goals.

JSSA also provides support services to adoptive families and adult adoptees, including:

• Pre-home study counseling/information about adoption options
• Parental placement counseling
• Counseling for birth parents
• Home studies and post-placement supervision
• Court reports
• Counseling for adult adoptees
• Adult adoptee and birthparent search services
• Special informational workshops and meetings

The following adoption workshops and support groups are offered in the fall of 2008:

           Teen Talk: An Adolescent Adoption Series
           Understanding Your Adopted Teen

Service location: JSSA offers this service in our Maryland and Northern Virginia locations. Our home study service area is large, reaching from Spotsylvania to Winchester, Virginia, and from Harford to St. Mary's counties, Maryland.
