JSSA’s Holiday Giving Programs
Yes! I will help a family celebrate Passover!
As you prepare for Passover, please help others do the same.
“Open your hands and sustain all living things…” Psalm 145
Three times a year, JSSA brightens the holidays for families and individuals in our community who are facing hardships. In November and December, when gift-giving is customary, families of all faiths receive gift cards so they can purchase what they really want and need with dignity. Before Rosh Hashanah and Passover, volunteers deliver bags of traditional foods and items to recipients who might otherwise not have them for the holiday.
JSSA has created a fun passover game for the whole family. Download the game and answer sheet today!
For thousands of years, around the time of Passover, Jews have given to those in need. The Jews of Ancient Babylon donated wheat so the poor in their communities could have matzah. Two thousand years later, after WWII, American Jews shipped matzah to impoverished communities in Europe. In the 1970s, American congregations sent matzah to refusniks in the USSR. Now you can join JSSA and B’nai B’rith in helping those in our own community. As you get your house ready for Passover in 2014, please be generous and sponsor food baskets for our neighbors who are struggling.
